Two More Great Weekends

(Gee, I started this poster 4 days ago....maybe I'll get in finished now.) 

Two weekends ago DH and I went to Asheville for a few days of R & R.   It was a well desired treat to ourselves after the wedding.  We stayed at the Grove Park Inn and had a great time.  Of course we went into Biltmore Village for a little shopping and down town to "Topps" (a great shoe shop).

Our last night at the Grove Park we ate on the Sunset Terrace for supper.  This is the view facing out from the open air porch.

Here we are after  the sun went down. 

The weekend after, I traveled back up I-40 to Montreat, NC for a quilting retreat.

There were 21 women total.

 We pieced, laughed, talked, pieced, laughed and talked some more.

Designer Stitches came in Saturday morning to join us.

Quiltkemosabe got a few paper-pieced stars for the LQS block of the month finished.

LP got her LBB's all sewn in rows and attached to a quilt she has been working on for over 6 years.  Was she happy to have it finished.

All in all everyone had a great time and no one would believe how many

 quilts got completed.   There are two quilt shops in Montreat, so of course, 

there where trips to them to see what fabrics we could find.  Some even made more than one trip.   Also a few drove into Asheville to the quilt shop near Biltmore Village.   

Quiltkemosabe & I even ate lunch in the village on Saturday after

 visiting the

quilt shop.

Looking forward to the trip up the mountain in the spring for the next retreat.
